Oh Dorothy - how exciting! How wonderful and thrilling! There's nothing like a wedding to bring out the most extreme emotions in everyone!! - Mainly good ones of course.

You sound like you're on cloud nine, so do be careful to make time for yourself to rest - hopefully all that long list of stuff was spread over a while and not all on the same day!!! haha. Anyway, I'm delighted for you all and hope that you enjoy the run up to the BIG day!

Best wishes - Sylvia xx

hi jenni, kennel costs vary i have a staffy and can be from £13 a day to £20 but the the one i have got for my boy is £13.70 so not too bad and my sons dog went there last year so i have seen how it works but i have checked loads out about 2 years ago,i had to kennel mine for the first time as i was going away with my daughter and my son has his own dog, mine is a bit grumpy so i didnt want to chance him with the younger dog, so i did the kennel trail,i was shocked at some of them to be fair they were not upto my standards but the past one i used(£15 a day) was really good its like a small holding so the owner lives on site so to speak but she gets full very quickly,if any one is thinking of kennels for first time do go and view all the ones you think of, dont go by the picture on web as i found thats not what you always get, speak to the staff ,have a good look round,i went at different times of the day as well when i decided the one i wanted the staff were ok with that, also the kennel cough jag i would recomend, for me £22 gets done a month before so it gets in the system but worth every penny as it is a sore illness on the dog,ask friends if they use kennels, that was how i got to know of the one i used before and this time through my son using the one ive booked this time, hope i didnt waffle on too much, dorothy BigGrin

hi guys, yep wont be long till the happy day, glad to say all is on schedule, the hotel has agreed to let him have 2 goldfish in a bowl as a centre peice on each table it will look lovely i'm sure but i am not happy with it, he has promised to give them to good homes after the event ie the hotel staff that have chidren or ponds in their gardens,i will not be taking any part in that.according to my son i have upset the bride to be how i have no idea so i will have to grovel to her briefly,ah well it starts already the mother in law thing, i dont see her often due to her working hours but i do get on with her maybe nerves and not listening to me properly,oh i hate walking on egg shells, dorothy

have ended up at gp for breathing trouble(felt it ages ago) so had the chest xray, breathing test thingy and next bloods, all back clear so far, now they think it could be the methatrexate GREAT.so no running around for a couple weeks or so and my sister is due down in 3 weeks,ah well there we go

Hi Dorothy - I'm with you on the goldfish thing - it's a bit weird, and I feel a bit uncomfortable about it. I wonder how the guests will regard it? Is there any significance to having fish, or is it purely for show? Anyway, as you say, you don't want to upset the bride and now they've promised to find the fish good homes, then all is well! I'm sure that a simple apology will put things right between you both.

Hope your breathing trouble gets sorted out - probably stress doesn't help - so lots of relaxation and gentle exercises- much love Sylvia xx

Just caught up with this Dorothy, so pleased for you and excited as well. I helped or should I say I planned my daughter wedding, she's very laid back and left everything to me. She got married in a hotel and it was a lovely do, even if I say so myself.

I wouldn't worry about upsetting the bride to be, she's probably stressed about things, sure you will be back to normal soon. She's probably abit touchy about things at the moment wanting everything to be perfect.

BigGrin Hello Dorothy
Catching up on your thread.
I say - fish in bowls at a wedding?!! Different hey!
Its amazing how we all have different ideas about our wedding tastes/colours/themes!
My friend is a florist and she did oasis block and floral display in small ceramic pots you have in the garden (new pots not aged & green)LOL it didn't cost a fortune.
It sounds like a carnival theme? Between us and NOT the bride: hook a duck, apple bobbing, face painting sounds better!!

Glad you found out about your breathing.

My head hurts tonite - my daughter spent a few hours doing girls world on me - clips/slides/bobbles! She said I'm a rock star!Razz Scared LOL I felt like a tramp!

Don't worry re your d in law - weddings are stressful times. I don't get on with mine....it will be 6 years xmas we last saw her (hubby was told by her to choose between her and me!)

Have you done your shopping for an outfit & shoes?!
Xxx

Hi Dorothy - it's all sounding lovely - you were obviously planning ahead with the outfit - good for you!! It's very exciting, this starting a new married life / wedding thing - nice that you're taking care of the brides dress for her - she'll have to come and visit to it's all good! Have a lovely time planning - remind when is the actual day?

Love - Sylvia xx
